2012 Safe Boating Class

 “About Boating Safely” is a beginner boating course offered by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary (Flotilla 75-Ruskin). The course will be held at the Tampa Sailing Squadron clubhouse on Apollo Beach Blvd. in Apollo Beach .

The seminars are held in manageable segments of 3 hours over a 2 week period.
The 3 sessions will be held on Jan. 12, Jan. 19 and Jan. 26 from 7 – 10 PM overlooking the water at Tampa Sailing Squadron.
The first two sessions are instructional and the third session for reviewing and testing.
Cost is $40 and includes the ABS book and CD, a lifetime reference manual.

Flotilla 75-Ruskin also provides Free Boat Safety Inspections every Saturday. These free, no-obligation Vessel Safety inspections are for recreational boaters. They take about 15 minutes and are available from 10am until noon at Simmons Park, Ruskin on the first and third Saturday of the month, and at Williams Park, Gibsonton on the second and fourth Saturday, also from 10am to noon. The USCG Auxiliary FL75 Ruskin, FL holds its monthly meeting on the second Wednesday of each month at the Ruskin Rec Center 901 6th St., Ruskin. The meeting starts at 7:30 P.M. New or prospective members are always welcome to attend. For more information, call 813-938-1746.

I never new the offered boating safety classes. I am going to have to look into that.
