Greater Gulf Amberjacks

We have some great catches going on right now but you have to fish in between the cold fronts this time of year On Show Me the Fish Charters. My clients are catching greater Amberjack, Cobia, Blackfin Tuna, Kingfish, Mangrove Snappers, Porgys, Triggerfish, door mat size Flounder, Sea Bass, Bonita [Little Tunny's],  Blacktip Sharks up to 5 ft. An over abundance of catch and release of Grouper and Red Snappers have been enjoyed as well.

This winter has been nice and warm and the Kings and Cobia are showing this week along with Tarpon and Tripletail in the bay. That's a lot of species available to catch this time of year. Best action is starting out about 115 ft offshore of Anna Maria and Longboat key. Going out to 150 ftto the deeper ledges and wrecksgets even more outrageous with larger fish. Extra large Pinfish have been working magic this week for AJ's and smaller baits for the Mangrove Snapper and other tasty reef fish.

As of writing this we have a front on us right now with high wind and the forecast is to be here most of the week. The good news is the temperature is not too cold and all of these Pelagic species will still be here and will be very hungry when the weather stabilizes. I predict it will be pure madness for the first few nice days —it won't be fishing, it will all be catching. So be ready to come on out and get you some!
